Review
"The Meeting On The Moon" by Fran Clark is a young adult Christian novel that deals with the growing problem of bullying with compelling characters and an engaging story.
The story is about eleven-year-old Andrew Carmichael, a victim of bullying. Although he is athletic, intelligent, and likable, the school bully, Luke, targets Andrew on a daily basis, verbally and physically abusing him. The situation haunts Andrew constantly, and he doesn't know who to talk to or what to say.Clark writes dynamic, true-to-life characters; you'll find yourself feeling for Luke as he struggles with the bullying.
The writing is perfect for young readers (although adults can enjoy it, too), with great dialogue and age-appropriate vocabulary.
The plot is easy to keep reading, yet affecting, and does not feel overtly like a lesson (although there is so much to be learned from the novel). As a Christian book, Clark does an excellent job describing how Andrew turns to his faith to find strength for dealing with the bullying.
Overall, if you're looking for a powerful, well-written book on faith and bullying, "The Meeting on the Moon" is the perfect book for you.

DARE TO DREAM, PLAY TO WIN - Life: Learning to Play, Learning to Win by Johnathon Smith
Review
Johnathon Smith's "Dare to Dream, Play to win – Life: Learning to Play, Learning to Win" is an inspirational story about a child who has trouble reading.
The main character is nine-year-old Cameron, a huge football fan. Cameron's dream is to be a football star, so much so, that his day dreaming stops him from being able to focus on schoolwork.
Cameron ultimately makes some bad decisions in school. Fortunately, he meets a professional football player who inspires him to work hard in everything, including school.
The plot is well-paced, and it is wonderful to read about Cameron's growth as a person. The lessons in the story are presented in a way that feels natural and inspirational. There a number of children's books that just "preach" at the reader. This is not the case. The lessons about hard work and honesty, among other things, are integrated into the story perfectly.
Children reading this book will be inspired to read more and understand its importance in personal growth. This is a must-read for any child who has trouble getting motivated to read!

The Keeper of the Wind by Mark Shaw
Review
"Keeper of the Wind," by Mark Shaw, is a young adult novel with elements of adventure and historical fiction.
The story revolves around three high school seniors who discover artifacts during a camping trip and subsequently try to sell them, only to get caught up in a web of drama, action, and adventure.
This is Shaw's first novel, but it certainly does not feel like it. The writing makes the book feel as though it were written by a seasoned veteran.
The characters are incredibly dynamic. Each of the main characters is very different in terms of personality, upbringing, etc, and Shaw does a great job with each of them.
The plot is very engaging. You'll start off interested in the story in the beginning, but soon find yourself NEEDING to know what happens next. There are enough twists and turns in the book to keep you up late at least a few nights, until you finish. There are also a number of lessons that young minds could take to heart in the book.
Overall, if you like YA books with a bit of history and adventure, then this is the perfect book for you.

Danny Is Not Afraid of the Dark
Review
"Danny Is Not Afraid of the Dark" is a picture book about a boy who overcomes his fear of the dark.
The pictures are bright, colorful and contribute information to the plot. The sentences are relatively short and easy-to-understand, but are not too simple that they are boring.
The plot is about a young boy who is fearless, save for his fear of the dark.
The main character, Danny, has an eye-opening (in more ways than one) experience one night when he "meets" his fears face-to-face and makes friends.
The simple lesson in the story, about not fearing the unknown, will not be lost on young children.
This team (the authors and illustrator) is one that I have a feeling will become increasingly popular. I will definitely buy their next book for my son -- and I recommend this book to anyone with young kids (especially those afraid of the dark)!

Skeletons in the Closet by Sharon Arredondo
Review
"Skeletons in the Closet," by Sharon Arredondo, is a suspense/thriller (with some aspects of horror) that will have you on the edge of your seat until you finish.
The aptly named book is about family secrets in a broken family.
The book is written in third-person, and each chapter focuses on a different character.
One of the characters is Esther Higgins, a woman married to an alcoholic, gambling man. When her life becomes chaotic, the story flashes back to Esther's youth, when she was involved in a tumultuous relationship that affected her greatly. Esther's daughter, a teenager, has dark secrets of her own and violent tendencies.
The character-driven plot gets going quickly and keeps its pace throughout the novel. The characters are very dynamic and complex, and it is interesting to read about how they became who they are, as well as guess what they will do next.
The book's writing is solid, and the author does a great job of painting emotions and scenes with descriptive words.
If you like suspense/thriller with a touch of darkness, then you will love this book.

Guide to Alpha Male Traits & Confident Body Language by David Clay
Review
David Clay's "Guide to Alpha Male Traits & Confident Body Language" is a comprehensive guide to becoming a confident person who succeeds on the dating scene.
The book covers everything you need to know about being an alpha male, from how to have leader-like thought processes to how to present yourself.
The book is written in a very easy-to-understand format. It's almost as if you are talking to a friend giving you advice. There are also lots of images to give you specific examples of what the author is talking about.
One of the strengths of the book is that it is based on psychology, including such concepts as framing and visualization, which make it very credible and applicable. There are a fair amount of interesting references to other sources (books, tv shows, etc)
One of the book's more interesting chapters is one in which it reconciles being "nice" with being an alpha male. It's a situation that many wonder about, and this book does a perfect job of describing the solution.
The book is extremely thorough and will not leave any questions unanswered. Overall, a must-read for anyone looking to make changes in their life so that they can become an alpha male.

The Art of Implementation by Stewart Blunt
Review
If you have ever felt as though you wanted to change something about your life or situation, then "The Art of Implementation" is for you. This book covers various topics regarding changing yourself into who you want to be.
One of the main focuses of the book is how to overcome failure and turn it into something positive. I'm someone who generally considers himself optimistic, but the author's view on using failure as a chance for achieving the positive is something that never occurred to me. I've been implementing it into my own life over the past few days and am surprised at how well I have reacted to it. This book also covers the tricky concept of motivation, which is necessary to understand if you truly want to change yourself.
One of my favorite things about the book is that it is written in a conversational style. The author shares lots of personal anecdotes, as well as quotes and stories from famous people.
I particularly liked a section about Albert Einstein's philosophy regarding success (which is incredibly inspiring). Overall, I would definitely recommend this book. It's chock-full of information on becoming the person you want to be and written in a way that is easy to follow.

Home Inc.: The Business of Buying and Selling a Luxury Home by Alex Goldstein and Brian Tracy
Review
"Home Inc.: The Business of Buying and Selling a Luxury Home ," by Alex Goldstein and Brian Tracy, is a comprehensive guide on succeeding in real estate and business.
The book's two authors are Alex Goldstein, who has experience in Arizona real estate, and Brian Tracy, a business genius
The book has a conversational feel to it -- you feel like you're listening to experts speak, rather than like you're reading a textbook.
Although the book is concise and to-the-point, it covers a lot of ground, from how to negotiate a deal with real estate to how to market. The book's information takes into account the fact that the market changes, which makes it applicable broadly.
In addition to telling you how to achieve success, the book also tells you how to avoid failure.
I love how the book's authors cover topics they are experts on. For instance, Alex Goldstein (the Arizona real estate mogul) explains how to buy real estate without an agent.
Brian Tracy's chapters are more focused on general business strategies, including a strategy he created called Zero Based Thinking. Brian also explains his Brilliant Mind Storming method for generating ideas.
There is also an online bonus included with the book, with great resources for applying the lesson from the book.
Overall, if you want an approachable yet comprehensive book on real estate (and business in general), this book is perfect for you.

The Black Chapel: A Steamy Romance Novel by Marilyn Cruise
Review
Marilyn Cruise’s “The Black Chapel: A Steamy
Romance Novel” is a young woman’s story about her inner-struggles of living a
double life as a stripper, barely making ends meet, until an unexpected
proposal happens that could seriously change her life.
Ms. Scarlett Hansen, a Harvard-educated woman
with a master’s degree, finds herself working at The Black Chapel as a dancer,
a wholly-degrading job she feels she must retain to support herself and pay off
nearly a half million dollars of debt.
She carries the weights of medical bills and needed chemotherapy
treatments for her ailing father, the grief from losing her mother to a car
accident, her parents’ mortgage payment, and her recent ER bills.
Fully costumed to protect her identity,
Scarlett transforms into her alter ego, Samantha, at the club. After a successful night performing for
clients including a real-estate billionaire named Michael Manning who lusts
after Samantha and wants her personal information, Scarlett’s best friend,
Anne, convinces her to attend Portland Episcopal Church the following
morning. Surprisingly, Mr. Manning shows
up to sit next to Scarlett, not knowing she had danced for him!
The luring plot really kicks into gear when Michael and Scarlett
are on their first date at dinner. Michael proposes marriage to Scarlett so
that he might keep his terminally ill mother’s three billion dollar inheritance
to split evenly with Scarlett after their divorce. Though this plan is “heaven sent”
financially, Scarlett has always dreamed of marrying for love. Will she go
through with it? Will Samantha cause
problems? Will the good girl or bad girl win?
Ripe with strong character development, the books is worth purchasing for the cast of interesting characters alone. The exciting plot and steamy-hot writing (perfect for mature
audiences) make this book perfect for anyone who likes their romance a bit more "adult."
“The Black Chapel” will surely delight fans
of romantic adult literature and transport you to the tantalizing life and mind
of Scarlett Hansen.
